School Day

The school day for all our children begins at 7.25 am. Our gates open at 7.10 am and children are supervised from that time.

KG

  • KG children gather in an enclosed and secure area outside the KG classrooms. At 7.25am they stand quietly for the Kuwait National Anthem, and are then taken to their classrooms by their teachers.
  • They have two meal breaks in their day: 9.30am to 10.00am and 11.30am to 12.00pm. Children bring a healthy packed lunch from home to eat.
  • KG’s day finishes at 12.15pm.

Pre-Prep (Reception, Year 1 & 2)

  • Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 classes begin their day on the Pre-Prep playground. At 7.25am they line up and stand quietly for the Kuwait National Anthem, and are then taken to their classrooms by their teachers. We encourage these children to say goodbye to their parents on the playground and to take their own bags to the classrooms.
  • Break times are from 9.30am to 10.00am and 11.30am to 12.00pm. Children bring a healthy packed lunch from home to eat and then have some supervised outdoor free-play time.
  • For the majority of the school day, the children will be based in their own classrooms. However, there are some specialist lessons each week including: PE, swimming, music and ICT.
  • Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 classes finish their day at 1.30pm. On some afternoons, ECAs (Extra Curricular Activities) are offered and these finish at 2.30pm.

Prep (Years 3-8)

  • Prep classes begin their day on the Prep playground. At 7.25am they line up and stand quietly for the Kuwait National Anthem, and then are taken to their classrooms by their form teachers.
  • Break times are from 10:15am to 10:55am and 1:00pm to 1:25pm. Children bring a healthy packed lunch to school which they eat in the Dining Room (Years 3 to 6) or Bedouin Tent (Years 7 & 8).
  • During the school day children in Years 3-5 are predominantly based in their own classrooms, but do receive specialist lessons in a range of subjects. Pupils in Years 6-8 have a form tutor, but move classrooms throughout the day for their lessons.
  • The regular school day ends at 2:30pm. ECAs (Extra Curricular Activities) run after school each day, offering a range of options, and finish at 3:30pm.
