TES win the KFSAC Mixed Basketball competition

On Wednesday 9th May TES competed in the KFSAC mixed Basketball tournament held at NES against 11 other schools. In the group stages TES faced tough opposition but won all of their matches convincingly against GES 8-0, ESF 8-0, ATIS 6-1 and NES 10-2 with the team playing some fantastic basketball. In the semi finals TES took on NIS and ran out 5-0 winners. In the final they played KES and defended superbly, restricting KES to just 2 shots and 2 free throws during the game. TES ran out comfortable 6-0 winners to be crowned KFSAC Basketball champions for 2012. The pupils involved were outstanding throughout the tournament and deserve a lot of praise for the hard work and effort they have put in over the course of the year to become a superb basketball team. The team add the KFSAC basketball trophy to the BSME U11 trophy they won in March.

Congratulations to the team: Donaven Lobo, Adam Gamali, Alex McEwan, Martin Ellis, Sam Forbes, Elias Lambros, Josie Bennett, Farah Du Lieu and Molly Ashley.

TES become Overall KFSAC Champions

For the first time TES have become overall KFSAC champions. Throughout the year U9 (Y3/4) and U11 (Y5/6) pupils have taken part in 14 different competitions against 14 different schools to compete for the overall winners trophy. The schools include high quality British Schools such as KES, NES, BSK, GES and ATIS. With 1 event remaining and the second swimming gala (where points are added to the first gala) TES have a huge lead in points and it is impossible for any school to accumulate enough points in the remaining events to overtake TES. 8 points are gained for 1st place in an event, 6 points for 2nd place, 4 points for 3rd and 2 points for 4th place. 1 point is awarded for any other finishing position. TES have won 8 of the 13 competitions so far, finished 2nd in 2 competitions and 4th in 3 competitions.

This is a marvelous acheivement for TES and something everyone involved should be very proud of. Congratulations to all of the pupils from Y3/4/5/6 who have participated in the KFSAC competitions this year and for the superb attitude and commitment they have all shown.

TES boys volleyball team took on NES at FSIS school on Tuesday 1st May in the final of the ISACK competition. In front of many supporters TES started the first set slowly and were 6-2 down after the opening few points. At 11-5 down TES began to fight back and Marcus Reid put TES 13-11 ahead with some excellent serving. From then on the boys confidence grew and they went on to take the first set 25-18 after some superb serving from Jamie Thorpe. The second set was much more comfortable. TES played some fantastic volleyball, producing some great three touch play and decision making. TES ran out 25-13 winners to be crowned champions.

It is a fitting end for the year 8 boys who have had an exceptional sporting year. They add the volleyball title to their basketball triumph and 2nd place finish in the football competition. They were also crowned BSME U13 basketball champions earlier in the year. The boys played 7 games winning all 7 matches on route to claiming the title. Well done to all of the boys involved, becoming volleyball champions is just reward for the superb attitude and hard work they have given throughout the season.

U13 Volleyball Squad:  Jamie Thorpe (C), Adam Shimali, Marcus Reid, Grant Kerry, Daniel Robb, Brandon Jones, Hunter Abal, Hussam Salman, Dinidu Chandreskara, Mussadiq Lakhana, Yahya Ghafour and Calum Lockie.
