This week’s curriculum meetings provided an ideal opportunity for parents to meet year group teachers, to meet individual form teachers and also, in Years 6 – 8, subject specialists. Each separate year group staff team, up to and including Year 5, met with their year group parents in a central location to talk through general information. Thereafter teachers and parents relocated to specific classrooms providing an opportunity to chat to form teachers and to take a look at some of the work completed by children thus far.

The curriculum meeting for Year 6 – 8 parents took place in the PAC and provided an opportunity for parents to meet form tutors and subject specialists. The school’s Director of Studies, Mandi Trentzsch, delivered an excellent summary of National Curriculum changes and the school’s approach, explained about homework responsibilities, described how we prepare children for future schools, and also touched on whole host of other useful themes related to the children’s education in this part of the school.

All of these meetings were warmly received by those in attendance and are certainly considered by staff and parents as a most useful way of sharing important information.
