Amazing success again this week for TES sports team
The penultimate week of the sporting year was very busy for TES teams with two U13 semi finals, two Y5/6 basketball tournaments and a Y5/6 cricket tournament taking place. The week started with the girls Y5/6 basketball tournament in which the TES team gained 2nd place losing out in the final to BSK. The next day TES played ESF in the semi final of the girls U13 basketball competition and won comfortably 32-5 to move into the final next week. On Wednesday TES U13 boys volleyball team beat TEA 2-0 to reach the final and the Y5/6 boys basketball team won the annual KFSAC competition with a fantastic performance. On Saturday the Y5/6 cricket team performed superbly well to beat KES in the final and win the KFSAC cricket competition. The KFSAC results this week mean that TES have once again won the overall KFSAC trophy for the 4th year running, setting a new record of points scored and competitions won. A fabulous week once again for TES sports teams.
U13 ISACK Girls Basketball
Semi Final
TES 32 - 5 ESF
The girls took on ESF in the semi final of the U13 ISACK competition this week looking to book a place in the final. The game started at a fast pace and with TES a little nervous ESF took the lead. The TES girls soon fought back and led 7-2 after the 1st quarter. In the 2nd quarter the girls started to up their performance. They played extremely well and led 21-3 at the end of the half. The game was now firmly in the girls grasp and after a comfortable 3rd quarter TES led 29-3. This enabled the rest of the squad to get some game time and by the end of the game the score finished 32-5 to TES. It was a super victory and the girls should be very pleased with their performance. The final is against BSK and is scheduled for next Thursday at FSIS.
U13 ISACK Boys Volleyball
TES 2 - 0 TEA
The boys U13 volleyball team played TEA in the semi final of the ISACK competition on Wednesday. A much improved TEA team came to TES after some good wins in the ISACK league. The first set was very tight and it took TES a long time to gain control of the game. After some good serving TES eventually gained control and won the first set 25-20. In the second set TES played some great stuff and easily won 25-6. It was a super performance from the boys and means that they move into the final next week against KES at Bayan Bilingual School. The game is scheduled for Tuesday. Good luck boys.
KFSAC Y5/6 Girls Basketball Tournament
The TES Y5/6 girls basketball squad took part in the annual KFSAC tournament on Monday against 11 other schools. The girls played very well and convincingly made their way into the semi finals beating NIS 10-0, TEA 14-0, TEP 16-0 and ATIS 14-0. In a tough game with BSK in the group stages TES lost out 4-2 which meant the girls finished in 2nd place in the group. In the semi finals TES played NES in a very tough game. It was nip and tuck all the way and the final score ended 4-4. This meant 2 minutes of extra time. Towards the end of extra time TES were awarded a free throw that Crystal scored to send TES through to the final 5-4. In the final TES once again played BSK. It was a close affair at the start of the game but after missing a few chances BSK scored and then doubled their lead to go 4-0 ahead. TES pressed but couldn't find a way past the BSK defence and ended up losing the game 6-0. However, it was a terrific performance from the TES girls who finished very worthy runners up to a strong BSK team. The result was important as it meant that TES are now guaranteed overall KFSAC champions for the 4th year running. Well done girls, a super effort. KFSAC Y5/6 Boys Basketball Tournament
Superb Boys put on great show to win the KFSAC basketball tournament
On Wednesday TES Y5/6 boys basketball team took part in the annual KFSAC competition against 11 other schools. The boys played some great basketball and cruised through their group with wins against a KFSAC select team 12-0, DMS 10-0, KNES 12-0, ATIS 8-0 and a hard earned win against NES 1-0. The team conceded 0 points and scored some excellent baskets to win the group. In the semi final TES faced BSK. The game was a close affair and although TES dominated possession they could not score and missed a number of free throws. It was a frustrating game as BSK persisted on fouling the TES players. At 1-0 to TES the time was running out when BSK broke up the court and scored. Time was now against the team but with a minute to go TES gained another free throw and this time scored to make the game 2-2. Moments later TES broke up court again and Cameron shot to make the game 4-2. Time then ran out and TES were through to the final. In the final TES played NES and put in a fabulous performance. From the start of the game the boys pressed NES and controlled the game scoring 3 great baskets to lead 6-0. Another basket followed and TES were in complete control. The game finished 9-1 in what was the boys' best performance of the day. It was a terrific performance and the boys should be extremely proud of their endeavours. The win firmly cements TES as overall KFSAC champions. Well done to all of the squads' a fabulous triumph: Cameron, Basil, Rami, Owain, Cassius, Max, Abdullah, Orestis and Zaion.
KFSAC Y5/6 Cricket Tournament
Fabulous TES cricketers win the KFSAC tournament
On Saturday TES A and B cricket squads took part in the annual KFSAC tournament at Messilah football pitches. 8 teams took part in the tournament on a very hot morning. TES A team had good wins against ESF and BSK and TES B team also had wins against BSK and ESF before both teams faced each other. In a tight game the A squad prevailed after a super effort from the B team. Although the B team won 2 of their games their results did not count in the group and only the A team results contributed to the final overall scores. With the A team finishing top of the group they played KES in the final of the competition. The B team played off against ESF B team, winning comfortably with a brilliant batting, bowling and fielding performance. In the final it was a close affair. TES fielded first and after some excellent bowling restricted KES to 196. TES went into bat and started very well. The team were well on top, but a couple of wickets started to turn the game in KES favour. However, the TES final pair steadied the ship and played some good cricket to see the team home with a score of 205 to become the KFSAC cricket champions 2015. A superb performance. Well done to both the A and B teams who have trained very hard over the past month: A squad: Sami, Owain, Max, Lewis, Jack and Archie. B squad: Basil, Stuart, Ben, Finley, Felix and Haydyn.
Overall KFSAC Champions
This week's KFSAC results mean that TES have once again been crowned champions in the KFSAC overall competition. This is the 4th year in a row that TES have achieved the honour and it has been an exceptional year for our U9 and U11 sports teams. 17 competitions take place throughout the year in KFSAC and the TES teams have won 10, finished 2nd in 3, finished 3rd in 3 and 4th in 1. TES gained a huge total of 83 points which beats the record set by TES last year and finished 21 points clear of 2nd place NES. A terrific achievement and everyone should be extremely proud of themselves. Well done to all.
