The final week of the sports season saw TES compete in two U13 ISACK finals. The boys were terrific in the volleyball final winning a very tense and superb final 2-0 v KES. The girls had an equally nerve wracking final and performed fantastically well to win 28-20. The two final victories this week has brought an end to what has been an absolutely unbelievable year of sport for TES. Well done to everyone involved. What a year. Go TES!!
U13 ISACK Boys Volleyball
Final
TES 2 - 0 KES
On Tuesday TES travelled to BBS to take on KES in the final of the U13 boys volleyball competition. Having been unbeaten all season without dropping a set TES arrived in confident mood. At the start of the game both teams traded points and then KES started to take control. They went 8-2 ahead and were on a roll. However, good work by TES won the serve back and then the boys started to peg KES back and gradually gain control of the game. The scores remained very close and both teams had chances to take the first set. At 28-28 TES gained the serve back and Warner managed to serve out two points for TES to take the set 30-28. It was a terrific standard of volleyball and neither team deserved to lose the set. In the second set again KES started well. TES came back and the scores were very close for most of the set. However, TJ put a run of serves together and TES started to take control. At 24-22 TES had match point and with some good controlled volleyball the boys managed to win the next point to win the game and the match. It was a fabulous performance from the boys who have trained hard all season. Having lost in the final last year it was fantastic for the boys to win the title and each and everyone of the squad should be extremely proud of themselves. They have been a pleasure to coach all year. Well done to: Warner (C), Yousef, TJ, Aman, Kerem, Charlie, Rian and Kareem.
ISACK Girls Basketball
Final
TES 28 - 20 BSK
On Thursday the girls U13 basketball team travelled to FSIS for the final of the competition to take on BSK. It was a brilliant game of basketball from two excellent teams. BSK started superbly well and were first to every ball. TES missed a few baskets and in a tight first quarter trailed 4-0. In the 2nd quarter TES started to turn up the heat and they really went at BSK. Two quick baskets and then another two towards the end of the quarter put TES ahead 8-4 at half time. From here TES did not look back. The girls extended their lead and went into the 4th quarter 10 points ahead. In the 4th quarter it was end to end stuff. The girls fought for every ball and worked extremely hard. Both teams got into foul trouble and exchanged baskets as the game drew to an end. However, TES had done enough and won the game 28-20 to be crowned U13 girls basketball champions for 2015. It was a superb performance and the girls should be extremely proud of the season they have had. Throughout the year the girls have won all of the 3 major seasons and have won every game, not losing one match in netball, volleyball or basketball. This has not been done before and is an incredible achievement. Well done to: Mariam (C), Aysha, Eve, Mia, Nour, Jennifer, Shania, Davina, Millie, Alex, Lana and Donia.
