Key Stage 2

Small intimate classes ensure that the pupils reach their potential. At the same time, they are encouraged to develop a compassionate attitude to others, along with self-discipline and a sense of independence. The four-year programme of the Junior School corresponds exactly to Key Stage 2 of the National Curriculum and aims to produce confident and competent learners, who are able to communicate effectively.

Class and specialist teachers deliver the academic curriculum, which includes the following major areas: English, Mathematics, Science, Art, Technology, History, Geography, Music, Physical Education, and Modern Foreign Languages, including French and Arabic.

It is important that students are taught how to take responsibility for themselves and others. High standards are set so that they know how to behave and respect one another.

Teachers create imaginative and stimulating learning environments with each new term and the children take pride in seeing their work displayed. Visiting and local experts are frequently invited to the school. Excursions and field trips, which provide an extension to the curriculum, are often arranged.
