Key Stage 3
The standard of education offered in our Senior School is of superlative quality. The programme responds to individual needs while fostering enthusiasm for learning, enabling students to fulfil their potential and develop their social skills, so that they become confident, responsible citizens who set their goals high in order to meet the challenges of a changing world.
The pupils benefit from sensibly-sized classes and an excellent pastoral system through which their academic progress and welfare are carefully monitored. Students are encouraged to improve their self-discipline, self-determination and awareness of others, not only in the classroom and through sport, but also by the opportunity to undertake longer field trips and camps than in primary years. Overseas adventure trips are also offered, which enable students to enhance their school-based learning.
A flourishing House system enables senior students to discover their potential to work together for the benefit of the whole community as they assume roles of responsibility. This, together with a carefully structured Tutorial system ensuring quality pastoral care, contributes to the well-rounded education of confident young people. Naturally, success in external examinations is regarded as a priority in this section of the School. Students are prepared for the next stage in their education using the British National Curriculum and the Common Entrance Syllabus for entry into Independent Schools in the United Kingdom.
The curriculum at Key Stage 3 is delivered in subject components:
English, Mathematics, Science, Art, Technology, Drama, History, Geography, Music, Physical Education and Modern Foreign Languages (French and Arabic).
