Art

The National Curriculum for Art assumes that every student has natural artistic abilities. It is designed to develop those abilities and an appreciation and understanding of the subject, through an exploration of art, craft, and design in a wide cultural and historical context.

Children are encouraged to respond to the work of artists, craft workers and designers in a practical and imaginative way. A particular focus is placed on regional arts and impressions.

Opportunities are given to develop skills and express ideas by working with different materials, and using a variety of techniques.
