The English School provides further opportunities to develop talents, skills and experience by participating in our programme of extra-curricular activities. This is designed to meet the needs and interests of all our students, so that maximum benefit is gained from their education. These activities enable students of different ages and abilities to work together in a stimulating environment.
There is a wide choice of Sporting activities offered by a team of enthusiastic, talented and dedicated teachers. These include Basketball, Benchball, Cricket, Gymnastics, Football, Hockey, Karate and Rounders.
The School also offers new experiences to extend the practical and creative influence of our curriculum. These typically include Amateur Photography, Modern Dance, Chess, Choir, Children's Classics, Cookery, Computer Club, Creative Collage/Sculpture, Cross-Stitch Sewing, 3-D Construction, Design and Technology, Drama Club, Drama Production, Embroidery and Knitting, Exploring Science, Felt Crafts and Soft Toys, Friendship Bracelets, Indoor Board Games, Jewellery Making, Mathematics Club, Mini-Orchestra, Painting and Craft Activities, Poetry for Beginners, Stamp Club and Story Club.
Many of the extra-curricular activities provide a platform upon which to develop and enrich pupils' involvement and contribution to the School's drama productions and musical concerts.
The English School also strongly supports the Scout and Guide movements. There are opportunities for pupils to join Beavers, Cub Scouts, Guides, Brownies and Rainbows all of which are held at the School. Besides enhancing pupils' enjoyment and learning many new skills for which proficiency badges are awarded, these organisations also offer the opportunity to acquire skills in leadership, self-reliance and responsibility. At least once a year, the older pupils are given the chance to experience camping with other local packs.
