Science

The English School has generous facilities for the teaching of Science including two well-equipped laboratories.

The Science Curriculum is based on the investigation, exploration and discovery of the world around us. Students practise asking questions, predicting, observing, measuring and selecting the most appropriate methods to find out answers and record results. They are set practical problems requiring both investigation and the formulation of hypotheses that can be tested.

The school follows the schemes of work laid down in the English National Curriculum, which are presented to the children as modules. The modules build on each other as the children pass through the school from Reception to Year 8

The pupils sit National tests at the ends of Key Stages 1 and 2. In year 7 the children progress to studying the science curriculum for Key Stage 3.
