1. Online Application

Thank you for your interest in The English School. We welcome your child’s application up to one year in advance of enrollment.
 
  • The online application form introduces your child to us and allows us to determine the appropriate approach for the assessment process.
  • The admissions team will confirm receipt of the application and confirm if there are places available in the requested year group.
  • Please allow up to one week for your application to be processed.
  • Submission of an application is not a guarantee of acceptance

2. Assessment Fees

Our application fee is 75 KD per application and covers administrative costs.
 
  • Payments may be made via bank transfer. Upon receipt of your application, the admissions team will provide you with the account details.
  • The application fee is non-refundable
  • Once payment is received, the admissions team will begin scheduling an assessment for your child.

3. Admission Assessment

  • Upon receipt of the application and assessment fee, an assessment will be scheduled.
  • The assessment process may differ depending on whether you reside in Kuwait or overseas, and also the age of your child.

Pre-Prep (KG-Y2) - Our local Pre-Prep assessments are held onsite at TES. Your child will meet with members of our Pre-Prep academic team, and the assessment will cover age-related English national curriculum expectations in the areas of phonics, reading, writing and maths. As well, we will evaluate a child's interpersonal and social skills within the classroom setting.

Prep (Y3-Y8) - Our local Prep assessments are also typically held onsite. Your child will be invited on campus to take two computer-based GL Assessment tests in English and Maths. Tests will be administered in small groups under the supervision of a senior member of staff. A copy of your child’s most recent school report will also be required.

Overseas Applicants

 

KG - KG assessments are only held in-person and can be arranged upon arrival in Kuwait.

Pre-Prep (Rec-Y2) - Our overseas Pre-Prep assessments require the support of your child’s current school. The admissions team will contact your child’s current school to obtain required documents. Once these have been received, we will forward an assessment pack which we will request be administered to your child by a staff member at their current school.

Prep (Y3-Y8) - Our overseas Prep assessments require the support of your child’s current school. The admissions team will contact your child’s current school to obtain required documents. Once these have been received, your child will take two computer-based GL assessments tests in English and Maths, onsite at the current school. The TES admissions team will liaise with the current school to provide all details and instructions.

 
  

4. Acceptance of Offer

  • Once the admissions assessment is completed, the admissions and assessment teams will meet to discuss the outcome.
  • The admissions team will contact you via email to provide you with the results.
  • Should the outcome be successful a registration pack including a letter of offer will be issued.
  • A 100KD Registration Fee will be due at this time to retain your child’s place, and is not refundable in the event that your child does not take up the place at TES.The Registration Fee is credited to your first applicable fee invoice.
  •   A child’s enrollment at TES is also dependent upon submission of all required paperwork. The items below must be received before your child may attend as a student. 
    • Photocopy of Passport plus residency page with valid residency stamp. If the child does not hold Residency at the time of commencing School, then an Exemption Certificate will be required. Full details of how the Exemption is obtained are contained in the offer letter.
    • Photocopy of valid Civil I.D. or Diplomatic Card, whichever is appropriate.
    • Photocopy of father’s Civil I.D. or nationality card (Kuwaitis only), whichever is appropriate.
    • Three passport style photos of your child
    • Application form to Join A Foreign School, completed in English.
    • Application form to Join A Foreign School, completed in Arabic
    • One photocopy of your child’s Birth Certificate.
    • A copy of your child’s immunization records
    • Medical File, issued by the School Health Clinic of the Ministry of Public Health.
    • Transfer Certificate from pupil’s previous school, in Kuwait or any other GCC Country attested by the Ministry of Private Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Kuwait Embassy (if applicable)
    • Declaration Letter, Signed
    • Terms & Conditions Letter, Signed
    • Medical Information Form
    • Photo Permission Form
    • Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Agreement. Signed (Prep Students Only)
