ISACK U13 Girls Swimming Gala:
Last Sunday saw the first of many swim galas to be hosted here at TES. Kicking off the swim season were our U13 boys, which comprised of students from Years 5-8. Last Sunday, our U13 girls took to the water in the hopes of matching the superb performances of our boys in the previous week. In the girls round, we had 18 students participate in the event also swimming against the U15 and Open aged girls from other competing schools. They all did extremely well and should be proud of their performances. In the U13 age category –where we can accumulate ISACK points – we finished in 3rd place, finishing behind KES and NES. Well done to all of our girls who raced on Sunday- each and every one of you did the school proud!

ISACK U13 Girls Netball:
TES 15 – 7 NES
After an excellent start to their Netball season, the girls faced their toughest opponents yet- NES. What’s more, we were away to NES- so we knew this was going to be hard-fought game. And indeed it didn’t disappoint. Our girls were slow to start, resulting in a 5-0 defeat in the first quarter. But as expected, our girls came back fighting and began to play much better as the game went on. We made some lovely interceptions and forced NES to work extremely hard in order to score. Darcy and Angelina came to form towards the end of the first half, sinking 3 goals consecutively for TES. NES still had the upper hand though going into the second half with our girls having a lot of work to do. But they fought until the very final whistle and put NES under immense pressure at times, forcing errors and working the ball steadily up the court to our shooters. Zeina did an incredible job through the centre of the court keeping the girls in line and encouraging where possible. However, no matter how hard we fought or tried our utmost to turn the game around in our favour, NES were just too strong on the day. A defeat however, will only make our girls more passionate and determined to hopefully bring home the ISACK title. Next week, we are home once again, this time to TEA in our final group match, before we move onto the semi-finals after half term. Chin up girls- you lost a hard fought battle to a great team today!
ISACK U13 Boys Football:
TES 1 – 0 BSK
TES played against BSK on Tuesday evening and got back on track in the league with another win. The TES team dominated the game from the start, but were unable to capitalise on the early possession and chances. During the first period a majority of the game was played in the BSK half but every TES shot was either blocked or just wide of the target. In the second half TES controlled the game again but had more of a cutting edge and created better scoring opportunities. TES made a lot of improvements in this performance compared to last week against KES, particularly when challenging for the ball and taking the ball past the opposition. A number of the attacks we created were down the right side of the pitch where Max had a very strong game and put in a number of good crosses which could have resulted in a number of goals, with Orestis and Owain coming very close to scoring with headers. The only goal of the game came late in the second half when Shareef put a cross into the box which found its way into the BSK goal. BSK fought back late in the game and created a couple of good chances but the TES defense battled hard and Benjamin in goal made a number of good challenges to prevent BSK from equalising. Next week is the final league game versus TEA and then we are into semi-final after half term. Well done boys- a great season so far!
KFSAC 5/6 Boys Football
A Team: TES 1 - 0 ATIS
TES A team put in another good performance this week and dominated the game versus ATIS. The front three for TES kept their opposition pinned back in their own half and created a number of chances. Ciaran, Maxwell and Sam each had good chances to score and made it very difficult for ATIS to mount any attacks. Towards the end of the first half ATIS got a foothold in the game and had chances to score but the TES defence of Christian, Omar and William limited them to long distance shots and Jad in goal made a couple of excellent saves, one of which he tipped onto the post after the ball looked certain to be going in. The game became very open and end to end with both sides having to work very hard and Ali and Felix came off the bench to help the team performance. Ciaran scored the decisive goal of the game as TES earned another win. It was a great team performance and the students battled very hard until the final whistle. The next game is against TEPS after half term.
B Team: TES 3 - 3 ATIS
The B team were involved in another high scoring game that was entertaining to watch. TES B took an early lead against ATIS when Oli finished off a good team goal when he placed the ball into the net from a pass by Rocco. The game was a high tempo match with lots of shots and challenges all over the pitch. The ATIS team had some strong players and got back into the game with a long shot that deflected off of a TES defender and past Ilyas into the net. The ATIS team then put a lot of pressure on the TES defence and managed to score a couple of goals to take a 3-1 lead. The TES boys kept on battling and working hard to get back into the game and Oli managed to score a second when his shot crept into the bottom corner of the goal. TES B kept pushing and all their hard work was rewarded when Chad scored from a free kick with the last kick of the game with a great strike. TES B remain undefeated- excellent work boys!
