U13 football squad make a promising start ahead of the upcoming ISACK football season
On Monday 16th September the U13 boys football squad competed in the annual ISACK 5 aside competition. The competition was held at KES for the first time on the school’s new grass pitches. The boys played extremely well and in very hot conditions put in some excellent effort. The boys beat TEA 3-0, KES 2-0 and ESF 1-0, drew with BSK 0-0 and lost to NES 2-1. This meant that they finished in joint 2nd place with BSK. Both sides finished level on goals for and against a penalty shoot out was needed to decide which team progressed to the final to play NES. TES took some superb penalties and ran out 4-1 winners. In a close affair in the final NES scored first, TES then immediately equalised through Brian Al Saleh. NES scored again to lead 2-1 with 3 minutes remaining. TES then put NES under constant pressure and were extremely unlucky not to equalise with the NES goalkeeper making two fine saves. Unfortunately time ran out and NES were victorious 2-1. TES finished runners up and the competition gave a good insight into the teams TES will come up against this season. TES first game of the season is next Tuesday v ESF at Hasan Abul pitches.
Well done to all of the squad involved: Alex McEwan (C), Adam Gamali, Ethan Doughty, TJ Gamali, Brian Al Saleh, Aman Manan, Yousef Abul Enein and Ethan O Kane.
