As part of our PSED focus in Reception we had ‘Buddy week’. This involved pairing the children with a different buddy each day and carrying out an array of fun activities with their buddy. This was a fabulous opportunity for the children to get to know different members of the class and develop their negotiating skills as they were required to consider what their buddy wanted to do before they chose a task. They had great fun throughout the week being creative with their buddy, making cards for their buddy, sharing friendship themed stories and getting to know their class better. Their only regret…why can’t every week be ‘Buddy week’?
