This week was a busy week for TES with two Y3/4 unihoc tournaments and the U13 girls netball final. It turned out to be a fantastic week with the girls securing a fabulous victory in the netball final and the girls A and B and boys B teams all winning their competitions. Whilst the boys A unihoc squad lost out by 1 point finishing 2nd in their tournament. A tremendous week for TES sports teams. Well done to all.
U13 Girls Netball Final
TES 22 - 11 NES
TES U13 girls netball team played in the ISACK final on Tuesday and retained the title with an extremely well deserved victory! From the start of the season to the finish, the girls have been sublime and have proved to be all but unstoppable! The girls stuck to their game plan and worked hard from the first to the last whistle against close rivals NES. NES did not make it easy and fought hard to the end. But in the end, the TES girls’ tenacity and commitment shone through to secure a comfortable victory. All 10 of the girls have had an excellent season and thoroughly deserve the success in bringing home the silverware for TES!
The TES attack, as all season, proved to be a mighty power in the D, supported so well once again by the defence and centre court. NES awarded Alex and Kira joint player of the match, but all of the girls were superstars today and during the whole season.
An awesome victory after an awesome season! Well done to all of the girls: Alex (C), Millie, Davina, Hannah, Zeina, France, Ella, Kira, Sydney and Maisy.
Y3/4 Girls and Boys Unihoc
Y3/4 Girls triumph in the annual unihoc tournament
This week TES has gained success in the KFSAC Y3-4 Girls and Boys Unihoc tournaments held at NES. In the girls tournament on Monday the A Team played a total of 6 games in a ‘round robin’ tournament, where all the points from each game are added together to decide a winner rather than play a semi-final or final. The girls drew 0-0 in their first game, then they went on to win the remaining 5 games scoring a total of 12 goals and only conceding 2. The A team’s top goal scorer was Talia who scored an amazing 10 goals. The A Team won the tournament a good clear 4 points from ATIS who were second. The girls’ B Team also played outstanding games winning 3 of their matches and drew 2 of the others which left them tied in first place with NES. On counting the goal difference TES were one ahead and declared the winners.
The boys’ tournaments were also held at NES on Wednesday. The A team played in a ‘round robin’ tournament and convincingly won 5 of their games. However, they were defeated by NES who had won four of their games and drew two others. When the points were added up TES missed out on first place by one point. They did win the most games of the tournament and they did score the most goals, 18 in total. Sam was the top scorer with 6 goals and Maxwell and William scored 5 each while the captain Finley scored 2 . The boys’ B team tournament was structured differently and involved two pools with a semi-final and final at the end. The boys performed outstandingly and got through to the finals where they defeated NES in a very close game. Welldone to all teams this week: Talia, Noura, Olivia, Melanie, Nourhan, Maya, Savannah, Zainab, Nourah, Fillipa, Ollie, William, Robert, Sam, Hadyn, Felix, Maxwell, Buster, Florian, Finley.
