A very busy week of sport this week included the 1st KFSAC swimming gala of the year, the rearranged KFSAC Y5/6 girls benchball and the Y5/6 football squads took on DMS in their 3rd games of the KFSAC football season. In ISACK the U13 boys took on BSK in the semi final of the football competition and the girls U13 netball team travelled to BSK for their final game of the netball league season. Overall TES teams performed outstandingly well. The girls Y5/6 benchball team and Y3 to 6 swimming squad won their respective KFSAC tournaments. The boys U11 football teams convincingly beat DMS to sit at the top of the KFSAC football A and B leagues and the netball girls had a superb victory in their final league game v BSK. The only disappointment was that the boys were unfortunate to lose 2-1 after extra time to BSK in the U13 football semi final. All in all, a fabulous week yet again for TES.
Y3 to 6 KFSAC Swimming Gala
The 1st KFSAC swimming gala of the year took place at TES on Monday 3rd November. It was a terrific afternoon with many supporters turning up to watch their children compete. TES produced some sparkling displays in the water and were terrific in all of the age categories. In the Y3/4 Boys, Y5/6 Girls category and the Y5/6 Boys category TES were the winners and in the Y3/4 Girls category TES came close runners up to KES. This meant that overall, TES won the competition convincingly with a score of 250 points, with KES in 2nd place on 210 and NES on 3rd place on 109 points. A fabulous achievement. Well done to all of the squad involved and to the coaching team of Mrs Burns, Miss Grace and Mrs Fallows.
U13 ISACK Football Semi Final TES 1 v 2 BSK (AET)
TES took on BSK in the semi final of the U13 football competition on Tuesday in what promised to be a superb game of football. TES knew BSK had some very creative and skilful players and were expecting a very difficult game. The boys knew they would have to work extremely hard to make it through to the final. The game began with both teams working well and producing some nice football. In the 7th minute of the game a BSK midfield player struck a shot from the edge of the area. Rayce the TES goalkeeper pushed the ball onto the post, only to see the ball rebound to another BSK player on the edge of the box. The BSK player struck the ball into the open goal to put BSK 1-0 in front. TES then worked hard and pressed the BSK goal in search of the equaliser. On the stroke of half time Yousef hit a wonderful strike that rattled in off the crossbar to put TES level. The second half brought no goals, with TES slightly the better team, so the game entered extra time. At the start of extra time BSK's creative midfield player struck a long range shot which nestled in the top corner to put BSK 2-1 ahead. TES pushed for an equaliser but the boys could not make the breakthrough. With minutes remaining, Yousef hit the underside of the crossbar but the ball bounced the wrong side of the line. Moments later the referee blew the whistle for full time. It was a disappointing loss for the boys after such a good season. However, they should hold their heads high after a super display against a very good team. TES finished the season having played 6 and won 5 games. A terrific season boys, well done. All of the boys should be very proud.
U13 ISACK Netball TES 26 v 2 BSK
TES played BSK this week in their final game of the ISACK U13 netball league. The girls produced an outstanding performance and were in complete control throughout the game. Aysha shot amazingly well and TES ran out 26-2 winners in an extremely one sided match. Eve was voted player of the match after a superb centre court display. Next week the girls enter the semi final stage and will play BSK again at TES. Well done girls and good luck for next week.
Y5/6 KFSAC Football TES A 7 v 0 DMS A
Y5/6 KFSAC Football TES B 2 v 0 DMS B
TES A and B football teams took on DMS this week in the 3rd game of the KFSAC football season. After two convincing wins so far TES were looking forward to the challenge of the DMS team. The A squad put in a fantastic display and scored 7 goals to win the game 7-0. Rami, Archie and Cameron both scored twice with Basil getting the other goal. It was a clinical display from the boys and puts them top of the table. Rami was named player of the match. The B squad were just as impressive and recorded a 2-0 victory. Shareef and Sami scored the goals. Shareef was voted player of the match in a convincing win that also puts the B side top of the table. Well done everyone and to coaches Mr Gibson and Mr Watts for their superb tactics.
Y5/6 Girls KFSAC Benchball Tournament
On Wednesday 5th November the TES girls Y5/6 benchball squad competed in the rescheduled KFSAC tournament. The tournament had previously been cancelled due to a dust storm two weeks ago. Conditions couldn't have been more different on what was a beautiful afternoon. The girls were anxious to play after weeks of hard training. They took on KES first of all and played some sparkling benchball to win 8-2. The girls next game was against GES. Again the girls put in a fabulous performance and won the game 15-0 with all of the TES squad contributing significantly to the score line. The next game promised to be a bit trickier against ESF but they were no match for the TES girls who ran out 6-1 winners. In the final group game TES played BSK and, although BSK were quite tough and tenacious, TES came away with a 7-1 win. The results meant that TES qualified for the semi finals in 1st place. In the semi finals the girls played ATIS. ATIS started the game well but the speed and strength of the TES girls started to show and once the girls scored there was no stopping them. At the end of the semi final TES had scored 7 without reply to move into the final. In the final the TES girls faced their old foe in NES. The game started slowly for TES, who seemed to be a little nervous. However, after some good defensive play the girls started to perform and quickly scored twice to move into a 2-0 lead. TES then started to play some really fast benchball and continued to score. It was terrific to watch as TES scored goal after goal to win the final 7-0. It was an outstanding performance from the girls and TES have now won the Y5/6 girls benchball competition for 4 years in a row, a super achievement.
Well done to all of the squad involved, they should all be extremely proud of their hard work and efforts: Zeina, Hannah, Oleander, Ghala, Nadia, Emma, Crystal, Darcy, Cassia and Tamara. A special mention should also go to the girls who helped out with the training, Pollyanna, Maisy, Gioconda, Sabine, Mia and Iona.
U13 ISACK Girls Swimming Gala Results
Two weeks ago the U13 girls swimming squad competed in the first ISACK gala of the year. The girls all swam superbly well and some excellent personal best times were recorded from individuals. TES entered their strongest swimmers in the U13 competition and gave other swimmers an opportunity to compete against the U15 and Open age girls for competition experience. Overall the results were superb with TES finishing in 2nd place in the U13 competition, 3rd in the U15 competition and 2nd in the Open age competition. This meant that overall the girls finished 2nd to KES which is a brilliant achievement, considering TES swimmers are all aged 13 or under. Unfortunately due to a disqualification in one of the races TES narrowly lost out to KES in the U13 competition. However, overall the girls were fantastic and deserve every credit for a top performance. The 2nd girls ISACK swimming gala takes place on Sunday 30th November at TES. '
