TES hosted ESF this week at U13 netball and the boys U13 football team played KES in their second fixture of the league season. It was a mixed week of results in ISACK with the girls triumphant and the boys slipping to defeat. In KFSAC the A and B squads took on BSK this week, the A team winning and the B team losing in a close game.
U13 Girls Netball
TES 59 - 1 ESF
Another fantastic victory for the girls! This week against ESF, the team pulled together in fine form to win convincingly. As usual, the unstoppable shooting duo of Alex and Davina proved too much for the ESF defence, scoring 55 goals between them. Kira substituted in late in the day to make her shooting debut, to give the girls their final 4- a great day for our shooters! Hannah, Ella, France and Sydney ensured that the ESF goals were going to have to be earned today! Fantastic defence was played from all 4 girls, demonstrating their unity and strength at the defensive end of the court. It was then left to the agile and tenacious work from Zeina and Millie to link up our attack and defence - which they did seamlessly! Great job girls! Zeina was named player of the match for a terrific performance at centre.
U13 Boys Football
TES 1 - 4 KES
TES played KES this week in their second game of the U13 football season. The boys knew the game would be tough and were expecting a battle from start to finish. KES scored first when there was an unfortunate error in the TES defence and the KES left winger nipped in to score. 30 seconds later from a Rami free kick, Basil headed the ball past the KES goalkeeper to equalise. The game remained level at half time. Mr Leaver called for a more determined second half with more intensity and passion, however, it was just not to be for the boys and they could not seem to get going. Mid-way through the second half, in trying to clear his lines, a player unfortunately put the ball into his own net to put KES 2-1 up. It was a really unfortunate goal putting TES behind with around 7 minutes of the game remaining. A few subs were made and tactics were changed to try and turn the game around. However, this presented KES with the opportunity to hit TES on the break and after a couple of narrow misses from TES, KES broke up field and scored to see off the game. Just before the end of the game with TES pushing on KES scored again to make the final score 4-1. It was TES heaviest defeat for a long time and lessons will be learned for the
next game v ESF. TES face two important games next week which will decide the team’s fate and whether they make the semi finals of the competition.
