For the fourth year running TES Y5/6 Boys Benchball team lifted the annual KFSAC trophy. In a superb display they beat KES in the final 6-3 to crown an outstanding performance throughout the tournament. 10 teams were involved and TES were dominant from the first game beating eventual finalist KES 9-3, TEA 8-1, BSK 9-0 and TEP 10-1 to qualify as group winners and go into the semi finals as top seeds. In the semi finals the boys destroyed NES 9-0 to make the final. The final was a tight affair to begin with, with KES scoring first. However TES then excerted their dominance and scored 4 quick goals to put the game out of KES reach. The game ended 6-3 to TES. The result means that the boys have defended the trophy 3 times in a row having won the last 4 boys benchball competitions in the last four years. It also means that TES have won a ll three benchball competitions this year. Alongside this victory, last week the U9 Y3/4 mixed benchball team won the trophy and early in the school year in October the girls Y5/6 team were also triumphant. It is a credit to the hard work of the children at TES that they continue to perform so well on the sports front. Sport has never been so popular with so many children keen to be involved in teams and take part in ECA’s. It is worth noting that 50 boys came to the trial for the team.
Congratulations to the team involved: Cyrus Raki (C), Yousef Abul Enein, Khalid Alrowayeh, Ian Robb, Rian Jagtiani, Rayce Abal, TJ Gamali, Will Morris and Tarik Khachab. It is also worth mentioning Mathias Schmeizter, Andreas Lambros and Donald Bolton who were important in helping with the training of the team. Well done to all, a superb performance.
