ISACK U13 Boys Football
TES 3 v 0 KES

The TES boys continued their fine start to the ISACK season with an impressive 3-0 win against KES. The game started with both sides battling for possession and neither side able to gain an advantage in the opening minutes. The teams looked fairly even, with both sides trying to play the ball along the ground and keep possession. It was TES who then started to gain the upper hand in the match with the midfield and attack getting more of the ball. TES got the breakthrough that the game needed when Ciaran put a quick throw-in down the line, which Maxwell ran onto and then flicked past the KES keeper. The defence looked solid with Sverre, Dexter and Patrick limiting the amount of work that Jad, in goal, had to do. Truman and Sam were working well up and down the sidelines, whilst Ciaran and Maxwell playing through the middle had a lot of possession. Chad, Haydn, Ali and James all made good contributions for the team from the bench, and it was James that set up the second goal, beating his defender out wide and then squaring the ball to Sam, who controlled it and then fired the ball past the keeper from the edge of the box. TES worked hard for the 2-0 lead at halftime and continued to demonstrate a high work ethic. KES pushed forward looking for a goal which opened up their defence and meant the TES boys had more space to play in. As KES pushed forward for a goal, the defence made some excellent tackles, interceptions, and covered each other well. Jad in goal made a few very good saves when the KES players hit some powerful shots from distance. Some of the team play from the TES boys was excellent to watch in the second half, when they opened up the KES defence and created chance after chance. The team were playing each other in on goal. A couple of offsides and mis-hit finishes, the score could have been much more. The game was wrapped up when Truman got on the end of a pass from Ciaran, following some excellent passing and moving. It was another great performance by the boys, well done!
ISACK U13 Girls Netball
TES 21 v 4 BSK

The girls winning streak continues! 2/2 so far, and they continue to get stronger. Training has been tough, given the extreme heat and duration of sessions, but the girls resilience and work ethic have paid off, as they comfortably beat a good BSK side.
During the first quarter, the girls were very shaky. A new court, against strong opposition, meant that the girls had to work really hard to score their first goal. Scrappy at times, the girls eventually found their flow and began to play some great netball. After ten minutes of play, the girls were 4-1 up. This scoreline doesn’t reflect the dominance the girls showed, but at least we were ahead and getting better with each passing minute.
As we moved into the second quarter, an unchanged side continued to dominate. The girls were working hard now and beginning to extend their lead. Except for one or two minor mistakes in our defensive end, the girls played a very clean and clinical game, showcasing fantastic footwork, passing and defending, really piling the defensive pressure onto BSK, forcing them to make numerous errors. After 20 minutes of play, we were ahead 9-2. The third quarter saw a couple of team changes made, introducing Aubrey to the netball world for the first time. The girls played extremely well, limiting BSK’s chances of scoring. But, as in the first and second quarter, a slight lapse in concentration meant that BSK scored again. The girls however, were still full of energy and determination, and opened up their lead to twelve goals, ending the third quarter 15-3. In the final ten minutes, TES worked really hard to secure today’s victory, ensuring that BSK were limited to scoring one final goal, whilst we added a further six. The final score of 21-4 was deserved, however credit to our opponents, who did challenge us throughout the game. Another great win for our TES girls, who are well and truly looking to repeat the successes of last year’s U13 squad. Well done!
