KFSAC Year 5/6 Girls Netball League

TES 3 - 4 NES
On Monday, our U11 girls featured in their last league fixture of the season against NES. After their very disappointing loss to KES 2 weeks ago, the girls were hoping to win their last game, ready for next week’s tournament where they are hoping to win.
They started off the game really well. They were slick, moved and communicated well and were clearly hungry for one final win in their league. We broke the NES centre pass and scored the first goal, quickly followed by our second. Things were looking good in the first five minutes. NES then found their feet and coupled with a few minor mistakes by our girls, they managed to score, making it 2-1. Credit to our girls however, they weren’t going to let NES back into the game that easily, as they found a third goal soon after, leaving the score at 3-1 going into half time. As we moved into the second half, we once again started off well, making numerous interceptions and moving the ball very well through the court- we just couldn’t get the shot away. The final five minutes of the game however, undid us in the end. NES played well and managed to force many unforced errors from our girls. We were chasing them the whole time. 1 goal, 2 goals- it was now 3-3 with 2 minutes left! We managed to keep the ball in our half for most of it, but a momentary lapse in concentration and loose defending, meant that NES managed to sneak a fourth goal in. We were now 4-3 down (again, just like against KES), with 30 seconds left. The girls did their best and did not give up until the final whistle. But despite this, those 3 minutes in the second half of poor play, were enough to cost us the game and 2nd place overall. 4-3 to NES in the end.
Whilst the girls were disappointed with their result, we must still remember that we were the highing scorest team in the league and conceded the fewest goals - so winning the tournament next week, is still a very distinct possibility. Sometimes in sport, we have a bad day, but it doesn’t mean we are a bad team. Well done to you all, particularly considering it is a brand new netball team!
ISACK U13 Boys Volleyball; Semi-Final

TES 2 - 0 TEA
The TES boys made it 6 wins out of 6 in their semi-final win versus TEA. After earning home field advantage with a perfect regular season record. The visitors started the game well, racing out to a 4-0 lead after winning the toss for service. The opposition’s confidence grew as they were able to take the lead and then momentum swung from one side to the other. In the opening set the TES team were able to draw level but were unable to take the lead. Some great serves from the boys got the score close but some communication errors meant that TEA led 19-16 in the set. After a quick timeout the boys looked focused and driven and played some excellent 3 touch volleyball, finished with some great attacking shots by Jack, Truman and Woojin. Matthew and Omar made a couple of very good sets that led to winning hits by the TES frontcourt. After battling through the opening set the boys ended it 25-20 and looked confident going into set 2. The second set started superbly for the boys with Maxwell giving the boys a 9-0 lead with his accurate and powerful serve. The confidence was flowing through the TES team and the opposition had no opportunity to play themselves back into the game, even when they looked like winning on a spike, Omar threw himself to the ground to dig the ball up and help win TES the point. After the tight opening set the second was not nearly as competitive, with all the players starting on the bench getting competitive minutes and leading the team to the final with a 25-7 set win. The boys have played absolutely brilliantly this season and need one more great performance in a rematch of last year’s final against a very strong KES team - good luck boys!
ISACK U13 Girls Basketball; Semi-Final

TES 46 - 7 BSK
Last week our girls faced BSK in their final group game of the season. They had a good win at BSK and were looking to repeat that performance this week, in order to secure a spot in the basketball final.
The girls had a shaky start to the game tonight showing that even a good team gets nervous from time to time. They scored the first two baskets of the game, but their usual determination and drive was lacking. After a time out, the girls managed to shake off the nerves and finish the first quarter 7-0 up. As we moved into the second half, they were the more dominant team and played much better than in their opening 10 minutes. At the end of the second quarter, we were leading 20-7. Things looked much better. The second half was a much more confident performance from the team. BSK didn’t manage to score and we doubled ours. Our fourth and final quarter was once again our strongest, as we pressed BSK in and limited their chances. It was a fantastic team effort today and sees the girls enter the final with 6 wins from 6. Can they win the final all important game? Here is hoping! Good luck to you all.
