KFSAC Boys U11 Football- Day Tournament

After successfully winning the league in the week the boys went into the one day tournament in high spirits. In the opening game the boys played KAS and showed the fine form which they finished the league season with. The front 3 of Ciarán, Harry and Sam dominated the game pushing the opposition back, to the point where they did not get out of their own half. Finnley, in goal, was a spectator for a majority of the day and the defence of Dexter, Haydn and Patrick had precious little to do but get forward and join the attack. Chad and James came off the bench and made good contributions to the team, after being called up to the A squad due to some excellent performances in the B team. Each of the front 3 scored a goal in the opening game to win the opening match 3-0. Game 2 against the B league champions NIS was dominated by TES with some great attacking football and Ciarán finishing twice from good passes to win the match 2-0. Game 3 of the back-to-back matches was played against BSK and in another fantastic performance the TES boys prevailed 4-0 winners with goals from Ciarán, Harry and a double from Sam. In what should have been the toughest game of the group stage, the boys tore ATIS apart from start to finish and the front three again all chipped in with a goal each to win comfortably 3-0. The final group game resulted in another win for TES with two goals from Ciarán and a third added by Sam.
Going into the semi final the boys for confident and playing some excellent flowing football; the defence had little to do during the whole tournament but were effective in protecting Finnley when they were called upon, whilst the attack was looking very dangerous. Our opponents were KES and they were put under pressure from the very first second of the game until the final whistle. The boys worked hard for each other in defence and were also very unselfish in attack. The KES goalkeeper was constantly worked during the 10 minutes and but for a number of brilliant saves the KES team could have been swept aside by a number of goals. As the clock was running down the scoreline was still 0-0 despite all the game being played in the KES half. Fortunately Sam stepped up and fired a shot into the top corner which was unstoppable just before the final whistle blew. The final was against the toughest possible team in DBS, who made the final after winning a penalty shootout against BSK. This was a much tighter game than the rest with the defence having to really step up and make blocks and tackles whilst Finnley in goal was called upon a couple of times to make saves. The front 3 played superbly again and made the DBS keeper make some good saves; unfortunately we were unable to convert our chances from free kicks (the only one resulting in a goal was taken before the referee blew the whistle). After a tight affair in which TES created the better scoring chances the game ended 0-0 with the final going to penalties. Finnley got his hands to the first penalty but was unable to keep it out, Ciarán confidently fired the ball into the top corner to level up. The second DBS penalty was sent wide and Sam then stepped up and comfortably fired his shot past the keeper to give TES a 2-1 advantage. DBS scored their final penalty meaning that Patrick had the opportunity to win the tournament for TES, he placed the ball into the bottom corner. The boys played fantastic team football all day long and were a pleasure to coach. The attitude and effort displayed were exemplary and they were great representatives for TES - well done boys!
ISACK U13 Boys Swimming

The boys went into the second of their two ISACK galas feeling confident. Having won the first round, we had a strong chance of retaining our U13 Boys swimming title. This was the first time in ISACK history that the competition was held in a 50m swimming pool.
Alongside the boys from last time, we also welcomed Tom and Hamza who proved to be worthy additions to an already successful line up. After some superb individual and relay performances during the competition, the boys managed to win the second gala comfortably, meaning that, once again, TES were crowned the overall U13 ISACK champions. Well done to all the swimmers and coaches involved - a fantastic achievement! We wish our girls luck this week also!
