KFSAC U11 Girls Netball League

TES 18 vs 1 DMS
TES 16 vs 0 TEA
Our U11 Girls got off to an excellent start in their season this week, winning in superb style here at TES. They kicked off the league, by scoring 34 and conceding only 1. What a fantastic start, considering 90% of the team are new features in the netball squad this academic year - let’s hope their winning streak can continue!
Their opening game was against Dasman, who posed little or no threat to the discipline and energy of our girls. From the first whistle, TES dominated the game with the ball never entering the Dasman attacking third in the first half. It was goal after goal at the TES end, with Nunu and Orla opening up their new partnership in fine style. When Zara came on, she proved to be a worthy asset to the team also, racking up a few more goals for TES. In the centre of the court, Melanie, Fiona, Noura, Nourhan, Zarah and Filippa, did more than a good enough of job of thwarting any kind of DMS attack, leaving Divine little to do as she defended their shooting circle. The girls looked good as their months of training had clearly played off. They were well disciplined and knew what to do. Their movement and passing improved as the game went on and despite one major lapse in concentration, resulting in DMS’s one goal, the girls remained focused throughout. An excellent start to the netball league, now it was time for TEA.
In their second game almost immediately following on from DMS, our girls faced an extremely tall TEA side. The height of their opposition did not phase them however, as their rampage continued throughout the second game. The girls were strong from the start, however this time, had to work a little harder given the height of their opponents. It forced the girls to utilise space and shorter passes more, which proved to work in their favour. Defensively, the girls did an excellent job of keeping TEA at bay, limiting any kind of pass into their shooting circle. Once again, our shooters did a sterling job, ensuring that our goal total continued to increase. On both the offensive and defensive rebound our girls were too strong for TEA, ensuring that each time the ball came into our circle, a goal was scored. 16-0 was the score in the end and it was thoroughly deserved.
ISACK U13 Girls Basketball

TES 34 vs 5 ESF
The U13 girls were up against a physical ESF team today here at TES. So far this season, the girls have shown great determination and discipline on the court. They went into today’s game full of confidence, hungry for another win.
From the beginning, it was clear that ESF were going to make us work hard. Credit to our opponents for making us work so hard and showing true determination against a more skilled opposition. We started off the game really slowly, making numerous unforced errors. Whilst we took the first couple of baskets, a few lapses in concentration paved the way for ESF to charge at our basket. At the end of the first quarter, it was clear our girls needed to find another gear and quickly, otherwise their unbeaten streak was to come to an end swiftly. The score was in our favour 6-1 after the first ten minutes.
As we moved into the second quarter, the girls came alive and started to play much better as a team. Defensively, we were much stronger and ensured that offensive and defensive rebounds were always going to fall into TES hands. They were less hesitant offensively as well, which impacted our play positively and ensured that we opened up a much bigger gap between us and our opposition. By half time, the scoreline was a more accurate reflection of the team’s ability, as we stood comfortably in the lead at 16-5.
The third quarter was our strongest of the game. Our girls dominated from start to finish, despite numerous decisions going against us. The girls played with more determination and looked far more disciplined throughout the court. Movement was much better, and interceptions were increased. The girls stormed ahead to a 30-5 lead and looked set to win the game for sure.
Historically, the fourth quarter is where our girls have really dominated and mounted pressure using the full court press. This week, it was no different, but tired legs and baskets
just not falling for us today, meant that despite their best efforts, the girls only managed to add 4 to their total, but successfully stopped ESF from scoring. All members of the squad featured in today’s match. Austine is to be commended for a fantastic debut, scoring a wonderful basket in the last minute of the game. 34-5 was the final score. Well done to all involved. Next week, we look forward to taking on NES at home.
ISACK U13 Boys Volleyball

TES 2 vs 0 ESF
Another fine win for the TES boys volleyball squad, this time away against ESF. TES continued the excellent form they have displayed in the opening two games of the season. After some good practices this week, the boys started the game with a great point, with Jack setting a smash for Woojin to take the serve. From the opening set it was clear to see that the TES team had an advantage over the opposition and looked comfortable during each point. ESF struggled to return the fast serves from the boys, with Woojin, Jack, Maxwell, Benjamin, Omar and Truman all scoring aces during the game. ESF were relying on errors from TES to win points; at times the boys got overly aggressive with attacking shots but ran out 25-10 winners in the opening set. In set 2, Matthew, Jad, Thomas and Richard joined Jack and Woojin in the lineup and carried on the winning routine. ESF started the second set a lot better than the first taking an early 8-5 lead, however a brilliant diving dig from Jad won a point for TES and two fantastic reverse dig shots from Thomas left the opposition stunned. Richard scored a couple of nice points from sets and Matthew’s serving stretched the lead for the boys and they won the set and match after a 25-18 scoreline. In the final (friendly) set the boys completely dominated with some excellent flat attacking shots and good three touch teamplay. The final set was finished by Jad who put 8 good serves over which the opposition could not return - final score 25-7 to TES. The boys have played well all season long and are really enjoying the ISACK volleyball competition; let’s hope they carry this on in next week’s fixture versus NES.
