After a terrific and triumphant weekend of sport at the BSME U11 Games, TES squads had another busy week of sport. This week the boys volleyball team took on KES in their 5th game of the season and the Y3/4 football squad played in the annual KFSAC tournament. The week ended with the swimmers departing for the BSME swimming event in Oman. We look forward to more success from our swimmers this weekend.
U13 ISACK Boys Volleyball
TES 2 v 0 KES
TES had an away trip to KES this week for their 5th fixture of the ISACK volleyball season. It promised to be a close game and so it proved, particularly in the 1st set. KES started well and TES made some very silly mistakes to hand KES some vital points. However, a run of points from good TES serving brought them back into the game. The game started to go away from TES again and KES led 23-18 but some good serving from TJ brought the scores level. Points were then exchanged as the game became very nervy and Kerem held his nerve to serve well to give TES a 26-24 1st set victory. It was much easier in the 2nd set as TES settled down and played some good volleyball. The boys played good three touch and moved the ball well to take control of the game. Warner had a run of great serves to take TES out into the lead by a clear margin and it was only a matter of time before TES finished the game off. The set ended 25-16 in what was a very good performance from TES. The result now guarantees TES a home semi final. There is no game next week and TES play their final league game in the three weeks after the spring break.
KFSAC Y3/4 Football
On Monday and Wednesday the Y3/4 football squad competed in the annual Y3/4 KFSAC tournament. On Monday the boys had a terrific start to the competition with wins against KNES, ABS and TEA. They also drew with NIS who were a strong team. On Wednesday the boys had two more games to play against NES and BSK. They won the first game 1-0 v NES and lost to a good BSK team in the 2nd game. However, the squad had done enough to get through to the semi finals. In the semi final TES played ATIS who were a very strong team. They battled very hard but unfortunately were beaten 2-0. This meant that TES would play off for 3rd/4th place. The boys played really well and beat NIS 1-0 to claim 3rd place. It was a super result for TES and keeps the school well ahead of NES in the race for the overall KFSAC title. Well done to all of the squad involved.
