It has been yet another unforgettable week for TES sports teams. The girls
finished their netball season in style beating NES in the final to be crowned
U13 ISACK girls netball champions. The boys competed in the annual 5 a side
football tournament and won the competition with victory over NES on penalties
in the final. To top the week off the Y5/6 football A squad beat GES 10-0 to
almost certainly secure the league title in the KFSAC football league. The B
squad are also still unbeaten after drawing 2-2 and have a chance for the
league next week. An amazing week of results for TES and all involved should be
extremely proud. Well done to all players and coaches.
U13 ISACK Netball Final
TES 19 v 6 NES
Report written by Mrs Peterson
TES are ISACK Netball Champions 2014-2015
Well done to all the girls in our U13 netball team for completing a fantastic
season in style! They played a brilliant final on Tuesday against their closest
rival NES. The girls were fired up and ready as they took to the court. It was
a strong first quarter with Alex scoring our first goal to get our confidence
up and set us on our way. After quite a tight first quarter we were slightly
ahead 4-2. A quick team talk and confidence boost sent the girls back on to the
court. The nerves were now settled and superb centre court play from Eve,
Millie and Jennifer helped us drive ahead in the second quarter. The girls
played their best netball yet, and NES had no answer for Aysha and Alex who
sank some brilliant goals under immense pressure from the big NES defence. The
girls walked off the court looking confident and determined at half time, with
a comfortable lead of 12-3.
Entering the second half TES continued to play tight and worked superbly as a
team. Mariam and Mia were so strong in defence and pounced on everything, and
NES found it so hard to get the b all into their circle. Tight footwork, great
pressure on the ball and real team work saw us finish the third quarter strong
with a score of 16-4. For the final quarter some substitutions were made and we
continued to dominate with Eleanor and Lynne in defence, and Davina scoring
some super shots. TES continued to up their game and kept the pressure on NES
all the way to the end. TES were truly the champions when the final whistle
blew, with a convincing win of 19-6, to make them ISACK Netball champions.
Throughout the league the girls have impressed their coaches with their hard
work, commitment to training and determination to dominate the league.
Throughout the season Aysha, Alex and Davina have scored an amazing 112 goals
and our super defence, Mariam, Mia and Eleanor have only allowed us to concede
10 goals. Centre court has been well controlled by Eve, superbly assisted by
our wings, Millie, Jennifer & Lynne. Mrs Peterson and the girls would like
to thank Mrs Ci ndy Oliver for her help with coaching the team to victory. What
a super season! Congratulations girls, very well done!
U13 ISACK boys 5 a-side Tournament
U13 ISACK boys 5 a side squad are crowned champions
The U13 boys ISACK football squad competed in the annual 5-a-side competition
on Tuesday afternoon held at KES. Eight teams took part in what was a super
tournament. TES were in group B alongside BSK, KNES and KES B team. The boys
had a sluggish start but soon got into their stride and beat KNES 1-0, BSK 3-1
and KES B 3-0 with Brian, Yousef and Warner all scoring good goals and TJ
providing the strength in defence. TES finished top of the group and took on
KES A team in the semi finals. Warner put TES ahead and after a few super saves
from Rayce TES thought they had the game won. However, with seconds remaining
KES scored and sent the game to penalties. The shootout went on for a while
with both sides cancelling each other out. Eventually Rayce saved the KES spot
kick and Warner scored to send TES to the final. In the final TES took on NES.
The game was a close affair and neither team could break the deadlock. Again
the game went to penalties. NES took first and scored. Yousef then equalised
for TES. Rayce then saved the next NES kick and Warner scored. TES knew that a
miss from NES would mean the title. The NES player strode forward and hit the
ball at Rayce who saved superbly to win TES the 5-a-side championship. It was a
fitting end for the TES squad who have had an excellent football season. Well
done to all of the squad and to the 5-a-side team: Yousef, TJ (C), Rayce,
Warner, Brian, Kareem and Rami.
Y5/6 KFSAC Football TES A 10 v 0 GES A
Y5/6 KFSAC Football TES B 2 v 2 GES B
The Y5/6 football teams played their penultimate games of the season on
Wednesday against GES. The B team put in a good performance to draw 2-2 with
Max scoring both goals. Max was also named player of the match. The A team were
fantastic and won 10-0 in a clinical scoring display. Archie scored 5, Cameron
3 and Basil 2. Player of the match was Archie for his 5 goals. Both teams
remain unbeaten and head into the final game of the season next week against
KES with the top spot up for grabs. The A squad look set to win the league
after KES were beaten 2-1 by NES. The TES superior goal difference should
ensure that no matter what the result, barring a huge defeat, TES will be
crowned champions. A fantastic achievement.
