Sports Report Week Beginning: Sunday 11th January
January 17th 2015
The first sporting fixtures of 2015 were played this week with both the U13 boys basketball and girls volleyball teams securing wins to maintain their unbeaten records. However, sights have been firmly set on the BSME U13 Games taking place this weekend in Kuwait.
U13 ISACK Boys Basketball
TES 54 v 21 BSK
The U13 boys basketball squad took on ESF in their first game of 2015 this week. The boys put in a commanding performance ahead of the BSME Games tournament at the weekend. However, it was not all plain sailing for TES as ESF were a good side and played some good basketball to stay in the game for long periods. Eventually TES took control in the 3rd quarter and it was great to see the Y7 boys play superbly well when given the chance to impress as a team. TES ran out comfortable winners in the end but the highlight of the game came on the buzzer as Rayce shot from the half way line and scored an unbelievable 3 pointer. It was a strong performance from the boys who now head into the BSME basketball tournament in good form. Next week TES finish their league programme against KES before the semi finals take place.
U13 ISACK Girls Volleyball
TES 2 - 1 ESF
TES U13 girls volleyball team remain undefeated after a 2 sets to 1 victory away at ESF on Tuesday. It was a very tough game and the girls knew that going to ESF would not be easy. The girls were a little unsettled at first and lost the first set 16-25. They fought back in the 2nd set to win 25-17 and then won the 3rd game 15-9. Although the girls did not play well they did the job and secured their 3rd victory of the season. Next week the girls take on KES in their final league game of the season before the semi finals.
