U13 Boys ISACK Basketball
TES 60 - 35 BSK

The TES boys put up a massive 60 points in their home victory against BSK. The game started very slowly with BSK being the only scorers in the first 5 minutes of the opening quarter. The boys were playing well but couldn't make a shot drop, but once they got going they opened out a 10-2 lead at the end of the opening quarter. The starting 5 of Truman, Matthew, Jack, Woojin and Benjamin were passing the ball well and creating scoring chances for each other. Omar, Richard and Finn all entered the game in the first half and helped the TES boys win a number of rebounds and added to the scoring. After a slow start to the opening quarter, the second quarter was very high scoring with both sides taking good shots and converting on their free throws. At the end of the first half the score was 26-20 and the game was beginning to get very tense. During the second half Aayan and Jad also entered the game, logging minutes, and also helped win turnovers for the team and battled to win rebounds. BSK had a couple of very good players that were able to score tough baskets, but the TES boys’ defence was good enough to slow the scoring with some excellent blocks. In the second half the boys were able to put some really important scoring runs together and extended the lead in the third quarter with Truman leading the way and providing some assists for others to score from close up to the basket. In the final quarter the boys used their full court press extremely well and built a comfortable lead that was never really in danger of being relinquished in the fourth and final quarter. The boys put in excellent effort all game long and got a well-deserved win against a solid BSK squad. I was very happy with the performance of the boys and was particularly impressed with the fourth quarter effort and delighted with the rebounding; an excellent display! Well done boys and good luck against ESF in the final league fixture.
U13 Girls ISACK Volleyball
TES 2 - 0 BSK
The girls continued their winning ways yesterday with another superb 2-0 win over BSK, at BSK. We won the first serve and kept it for a while, building an early 6-0 lead; 3 of these being aces, the remaining 3 points were earned by some fantastic 2 /3 touch volleyball. The set was then very nip and tuck, with the serve alternating quite frequently between the two teams. It wasn’t our serving going wrong at this point, but instead a couple of minor mistakes on returning the ball. The girls dug deep however and knew what needed to happen to ensure a win in the opening set. Credit to Austine today, who managed to smash her way to some points for the team; well done! Eventually, the better team won the first set quite convincingly with a 25-11 win. A great start to today’s game, could this positive momentum continue?
As we moved onto the second set, confidence was high and the girls looked really sharp, as we took an 11-1 lead. Confident we had this set in the bag, the girls unfortunately switched off and allowed BSK back into the game after a series of silly mistakes. The score became much closer and stood at 12-8, before a timeout was called. The second half of the set was dominated by TES once again, as the girls stormed for the 25 mark courtesy of some superb serving from all of the girls and some great return shots when necessary. They won the set 25-14 in the end, meaning they achieved another 2 sets to 0 victory. As usual, a 3rd and final friendly set was played, providing an opportunity for the remaining squad members to play. These 6 girls also put in excellent performances, showcasing some great serving and at times, some well thought out return shots. They managed a 15-8 win in the end!
The girls are looking good at the moment and have, well and truly, put their early loss behind them. Next week, they face ESF at ESF in their final group game, before our semi-final opponent is announced. Well done girls!
