KFSAC Year 5 /6 Boys Football
In the league, the boys played some excellent football and were able to finish in 2nd place. Losing out to DMS only on goal difference. With their disappointment behind them, the boys were looking to win in the day tournament.
The TES boys played very well in the 7-a-side tournament on Monday evening. The first game they played was against BSK and they got off to a very good start, winning 4-1 with goals by Ciaran(2), Sam and Maxwell. They went straight into match 2 against ATIS and managed to get a very impressive 2-0 victory, with the goals coming from Sam and Maxwell. Game 3 was against ESF where the TES team looked quite tired from playing three games in a row, but the boys battled and Ciaran scored to lead the team to a 1-0 victory with a last second goal. The final group game was against NIS and the boys dominated the game but only managed to score late through an own goal from a good corner by Maxwell to win 1-0. The semi final was against NES and the TES team scored a goal early via Maxell and managed to put a good defensive performance to hold onto victory. Jad in goal made a couple of very good saves and the defence of Omar, William, Christian and Felix looked solid and up til now, had managed to keep a clean sheet. The final was against DMS where the opposition managed to get a 2 goal lead in the opening stages of the match. Our boys showed great determination to earn their way back into the game, equalising the score to 2-2. TES pushed to score a winner and came close a couple of times but unfortunately were unable to find the back of the net. In the dieing minutes of the game, the winning goal came from DMS, who won today 3-2. The boys played brilliant all afternoon and represented the school very well! A job well done in football this season boys!
ISACK U13 Boys Basketball
The boys basketball team have been training since September in the hopes of retaining the U13 title brilliantly won by the team last year. Today, they opened their campaign against a strong BSK team at home. BSK started the game well and took a 4-0 lead early in the first quarter, capitalising on some poor defensive play by our boys. But the defense got more organised and the TES team started to play a more structured offensive system and created a couple of easy baskets with some very good assists and movement. By the end of the opening quarter, TES had a double digit lead and never looked like relinquishing it. During the second quarter, the boys played some excellent basketball and got into a rhythm and scored lots of baskets and won many rebounds on the defensive and offensive ends of the court. By halftime, we were nearly 20 points ahead and playing very well. During the third quarter TES continued to play good team basketball and created a number of scoring chances for each other with excellent team play and passing. In the 4th quarter, our boys continued to dominate and in the end, had outscored the opposition in every quarter. It was a great team performance and a good start to the basketball season for the boys, all the boys got a good amount of game time and all made a positive contribution for the team. The final score was TES 45 BSK 9.
ISACK U13 Girls Volleyball
Season two of the ISACK calendar sees the girls playing Volleyball. Today, they opened their campaign away to BSK. The game was close from start to finish with both teams displaying some excellent serving. In the first set, we took an early and comfortable lead over BSK thanks to some fantastic serving and returns. Unfortunately, BSK were able to overturn our lead and eventually won the set 25-18. Moving into the second set, our girls had all the work to do. They started much better quickly overturning the BSK serve. Our girls played well and were able to utilise 3 touches at times to win back points convincingly. BSK fought back, however, our girls held on to win the second set 25-19 thanks to some fantastic serving once again. Into the final set we went. We started well, but couldn’t hold on to our early lead and the serving from a BSK player was too much for us to handle in the end. Unlucky tonight girls, next game, the girls take on KES away.
